About the course

Childhood is perhaps the most crucial period of development in our lives. No matter how old we are, we are growing and changing. But the experiences and changes we go through in childhood and our teen years have an enormous impact on who we become. What happens to us in childhood, during our formative years, shapes our health, attitude, personality, and identity.

Some of us have lots of happy memories from childhood. Some of us have lots of painful memories. Most of us have a combination of both. Even if you don’t have major traumas in your past, you could probably benefit from healing past disappointments or buried dreams. Many of us need healing from traumatic childhood experiences. In this module, we will explore some of your childhood stories and you can heal and nurture your inner child.

Learning Outcomes

Explore your memories from your childhood: Doing this at a young age helps us understand ourselves early on in life. Formative years according to Freudian psychologists, start from 0-5 years. Anything you learn or experience during those times will stick, and only reshaping alters those formative behaviors. There are events that happened to us when we were a child - they could be monumental occurrences that shook our world when we were young or could be a life-changing phase that happened during our childhood. Hence, exploring our childhood stories is a means of digging into our memory.

Travel back in time and speak to your inner child: Childhood stories can come from any part of our past, starting from infancy to our teenage years. We are to dig into various events and stories that occurred during our childhood; They could be one-off incidents or frequent happenings, such as an abusive relationship, a highly stressful period, or an unhappy childhood. The goal is to speak to your inner child to heal whatever is broken and celebrate whatever is beautiful. You are to love your inner child now as much as you wanted him/her to be loved.
