About the course

We need to take ownership of our thoughts, words, and actions because it helps us move forward in our lives. But, most importantly, we need to take ownership of our talents. In this module, you will learn about taking ownership of your choices and their consequences.

You can pass around blame for a while, but eventually, you must take ownership of your actions. In Genesis 3, Adam blamed God and Eve blamed the serpent. Who will the serpent blame? We will not own up to our actions if we blame others. We blame the government, other people, circumstances, parents, children, or spouses. We even blame the devil. Why? We have not taken ownership.

Do not waste what God has given you. Take ownership of it. You are a caretaker in this life; That man must not escape your grasp. Your dream must not be lost in your hand. Take care of your home, car, belongings, and, most importantly, yourself. Take dominion of your domain. How are you managing the affairs of your house? Of your family? Teach your children to take ownership of their items, too. Teach them to wash and clean up themselves.

The story of Everbody: This is a story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody. There was an important job to be done, and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. So it ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have. -Author Unknown

When something belongs to everyone, no one will take ownership of it. Remember that story where an assignment was given to anybody? But NOBODY did it because EVERYONE assumed SOMEONE would do it. So, in the end, NOBODY did the job.

What you’ll learn

Develop methods to take responsibility for yourself

Taking 100% responsibility for our lives moves us from the victim to the victor of our life. It puts us at cause and not at effect, meaning we accept that we create our life and not just react to it. When we take responsibility, we move into the driver's seat of our life's journey.

Stir up God's gifts in you

we must keep our gifts stirred, so they don't stay hidden or buried. Other people can impart spiritual influence, but you must stir up your gifts and develop your faith. Doing this makes you take ownership of your life and your commitments.

Find an accountability partner

An accountability partner is someone working solely to keep us in check and accountable. Getting an accountability partner will keep you focused and committed to your goals. They will ensure that you take the proper steps to success.
